West Coast Cooler and the Dublin Fashion Festival
West Coast Cooler has joined forces with Dublin Fashion Festival and model Louise O’Reilly to salute Irish women and fashion.
As the Dublin Fashion Festival ambassador for West Coast Cooler, Louise O’Reilly writes below about how fashion is a great opportunity for people to express their creativity.
“ Style is about saying who you are, without having to speak” – Rachel Zoe.
This month West Coast Cooler are raising this issue, the importance of embracing who we are, and I am so honored to be working alongside this campaign during Dublin Fashion Festival as we share the same ethos and views on fashion and empowerment; embracing individualism, your uniqueness and never shying away from saying to the world this is me.
Fashion has been greatly debated for years as being just a commercial cycle. And while it’s primary goal is of course to clothe and keep us warm, the impact of this purpose is so much more than that. Fashion gives us an incredible platform to express our own individuality, a real sense of who we are. It has the ability to lift us up, create conversation, and bring an unexplainable confidence into our lives. Style is so personal and should be a celebration of all things that make us different, showcasing that we are not just one-dimensional; our capacity is so incredibly broad.
As a teenager I was so uncertain of fashion as my choices were quite limited for my size. Thankfully in 2016 retailers have opened the doors for various sizes to be more inclusive which is so important in terms of diversifying fashion and also enabling everyone to see that fashion is not a one size fits all approach. We are not defined by our size, beauty or age and neither of these should bare limitations to who we want to be.
Fashion and style without a doubt has an inherent grace about it, that confidence boosting adrenaline and the capacity to let you be you. Whether you wear blazers and tailored suits in your 9-5 job and embrace your biker jacket and converse on the weekend, perhaps you’re a beautifully eccentric creative and you can never have enough colour in your life or maybe you like to live life in the balance of black and white.
Take advantage of fashion; express yourself in an authentic way because learning to embrace your inner confidence and who you are truly is the greatest gift you will ever give yourself. Never be afraid to say #ThisIsMe
