Thinking of taking up the challenge to walk the Camino this year, well then let Rambler’s Way help you on your journey with their guide to what to wear.
There are many different ways to walk the Camino but the one thing that everyone should be doing the same is wearing the right attire to complete this mammoth challenge. Whether it’s your first time or you’re returning for another adventure, you need the right gear.
To help with this important task on getting you Camino ready, the team at Ramblers Way on Mary Street tell us what clothing and accessories you need.
We have a wide range of waterproof shoes and boots available from €39.95 that will suit all types of Camino walkers from beginners to experts men and women. Our most popular for all types of walkers is the Hi-tec ALTO LOW.
If you are going to invest in footwear for the Camino it is important to invest in good socks too. We have many merino wool and coolmax socks available. These socks have a moisture wicking material that’s pulls moisture from the foot and helps to prevent blisters, which you definitely don’t want for a walking holiday!
We have zip off walking trousers for men and women from €39.95 These trousers are perfect for the Camino as they are able to convert into shorts if needed but are also quick drying so if they do get wet they are not long in drying off.
You just never know when you will need it so it is important to bring waterproof clothing. We also stock a wide range of waterproof trousers and jackets from as little as €15.
When it comes to walking you need a good sturdy backpack. We have a selection of 25, 35 and 40 litre backpacks perfect for use on the Camino. These backpacks have airflow systems which help to cut down perspiration in the back area and rain covers are also included with most of these backpacks.
One big pointer for anyone heading off on the Camino: Be sure to get your shoes/boots well in advance of the trip so you can have them fully broken in and ready for your adventure. Brand new shoes on the Camino is never advised. So go walking in them before you head of on your big adventure.
