Seasonal Warmth at Clerys Autumn Winter Show
A seasonal warmth was in the air as Ireland’s leading fashion press gathered in Clerys on Wednesday evening last to see the iconic store’s Autumn/Winter collections take to the runway. This was Clerys second major fashion show this year, the store’s sense of confidence is palpable with their showcasing of on-trend pieces and covetable brands positioning this historic store firmly on the Irish fashion map.
The first floor was transformed into an impressive natural runway set against the backdrop of the iconic Clerys Tea Rooms arched entrances.
Setting the tone for the season ahead, the show featured a wonderful collection of the must-have knits for AW14. Of particular note were the fine cashmere dresses and chunky yet soft woollen cardigans, layered up to create sumptuous looks featured from the decadent Les 100 Ciels label, exclusive to Clerys.
Paying homage to one of the key trends on the runways for Autumn/Winter 2014, the models took a trip back to the swinging London of the 1960s with Mary Quant-esque silhouettes and Mod style.
Animal Print made a bold statement throughout the show, one of our favourite trends on the catwalks this season. Ankle boots, kitten heels and stilettos in various animal effect prints were sourced from Moda in Pelle’s new collection available at Clerys.
A collection of cosy, faux fur-lined puffas and parkas were also worn with an air of sophisticated cool by models in an ‘Après Ski’ inspired scene which made us feel all warm and cosy inside!
Closing the show, romantic dresses with embroidered, printed and embellished coats encapsulated a ‘Fairytale Folk’ and magical inspired scene, this was the perfect end to an enchanting show that had us writing our Christmas lists early…..
